About Me

My name is Jen Hathorn. I'm a family medicine physician. Since January 2015 I have been living in Egbe Nigeria, which is in Kogi State. I am serving at a bush hospital practicing full spectrum family medicine. I am working with an organization called World Medical Mission which is a part of Samaritan's Purse. This blog is my place to stay connected with you through stories, meditations and pictures. I hope that you enjoy reading the posts!

I've been without internet for the past week while taking a short holiday in Jos Nigeria, and it's been delightful to untether and simply enjoy God's creation! Truly some great adventures; hiking through the bush with only a compass, getting drenched in the rain while buying flowers to take back for my garden, finding a hidden waterfall, late nights talking and praying, roaming the markets, trying new foods, meeting crazy kids in the villages we hiked to! It's time to head back to Egbe, and I am refreshed!

"May His glorious name be praised forever; the whole earth is filled with is His glory!"
Psalms 72:19

Look at that smile :) A Fulani herdsman and his prized animals.

An incredible rock formation we climbed. Much more fun going up than coming down...

Saved the best for last...the most BEAUTIFUL of all God's creation!!
