There Is Joy This Day

A reflection from this week and pictures of some SUPER cute kids from Church on Sunday. I thought I'd share where some of this joy is coming from - aren't they adorable? The little girl with her fingers in her mouth was staring at me almost the entire 2.5 hour service - when she wasn't dancing. I have a few more people to introduce you to...I'm hoping to do that this weekend.

There is joy in the song of the morning
after a long and sleepless night
There is joy as the sun rises higher
beginning to shed its light

There is joy when I walk the hallways
and see people I’m learning to love
There is joy in the laughter of nurses
filling in the air above

There is joy in the smile of a baby
whose primary goal is survive
There is joy in the tears of a women
whose child has now been revived

There is joy in the grip of a handshake
a man who learned he will live
There is joy in the gift of a cold drink
this ‘thank you’ was all he could give

There is joy in the chatter at dinner
discussing the days events
There is joy in the prayer that follows
our will to his we’ve bent

There is joy that my body is tired
the daylight at last grows dim
There is joy as my breathing gets slower
my thoughts rest at last on him.
